Zizzi – York

Back in April I was commissioned by Zizzi to design a wall mural and coordinating wallpaper for their newly refurbished York restaurant. The building is the former Lendal Chapel dating back to 1816, and it still retains many of its original features – one being the 9 metre wide dome which took 6 days up a scaffolding tower to complete painting!
I was inspired by the history of Rowntree’s confectioners who were founded in the city in 1862, as well as the beautiful stained glass rose windows to be found at the York Minster.

Edible Brum Magazine

Earlier this year I met with Alex Claridge of The Warehouse Cafe to discuss ideas for the cover design of a new magazine he was behind, Edible Brum, which celebrates the food related happenings in Birmingham.
Sharing a mutual love for archival botanical illustrations, I set to work on drawing out and creating a pattern of various produce that would tie in with the Spring launch.
Design and layout is by the talented Rebecca Emery of One Sugar Please.
A limited number of the first issue of Edible Brum will be distributed around Birmingham – or you can view it online here.
